the bug

Ah yes. The weekend is finally upon me and I could not be more excited.  Even though I practically had a weekend in the middle of a three day week, I'm exhausted.  Not having outdoor recess is killing me.  That is way too much pent up energy in the classroom.

Tonight I went to Matt the Miller's Tavern with some girls I used to work with and haven't seen since May.  I'd never been there and it was really good.  I had some sort of raspberry/cranberry/something something martini and a turkey club.  Both were really good, although the burgers some of the girls ate looked so good.  I love going out with girls who will actually eat and won't just get a salad.  C'mon ladies.  We all know you're starving.

I'm looking forward to a peaceful and hopefully productive weekend.  Spending Monday night in class and Tuesday night in conferences means I really need to plan for the week over the weekend because we all know it's not gonna happen Monday or Tuesday!  Although there are rumors going around school that we're supposed to get 1-2 feet of snow next week so you better believe I'll be doing my snow dance, putting ice cubes in the toilet, and wearing my pajamas inside out :) Life of a teacher...

Here's to sleep.

Musings

They got a few inches of snow in Atlanta and people were gridlocked on the highway.  Like can they learn to drive please?  For real.

They talked about a man on the news who was burned in a stove fire.  He tried to put it out with flour and when that didn't work he tried to remove the stove from the house.  What are you thinking?

I bought a few things for my new apartment today, big clothespins with hooks on them to hang my keys from and a small chalkboard for all the lists I love making :)

Of course while I was out I had to stop at Target and get new nail polish...this is wrapped in rubies by essie.

I should get up off the couch and eat dinner because I'm starving but laziness prevails once again.  Here's what I'm eating tonight: crock pot chicken tikka masala. See, I can do some productive things on my days off :)

Day one

I'm not sure really what I'm supposed to blog about but I thought it was cool so here we go. This could die today or I could become completely obsessed. Time will tell.

Today is cold day #2 of the week. It's been so nice to have a few days off. I love my kiddos at school but sometimes a break is much needed. Whoever said teaching is easy clearly has never spent a day in a classroom as a teacher.

This morning as I was laying in bed not wanting to get up, I got a text asking me to go to Bob Evans. Never one to turn down breakfast (brunch?), of course I hopped up, took a shower, and dressed like a slob to go eat ridiculous amounts of food. We sat down, were having casual conversation, and then Cam Atkinson, Ryan Johansen, and Marian Gaborik walked in. I didn't hear anything else that was said at that table for like five minutes. It took 20 minutes for me to get up the courage to go up to them, and here's the result. Day made.

That's Joey on the left, Cam, me, and Gabby.  Needless to say I was pretty much shaking.
